Dyno Testing
All crate engines purchased from Prestige Motorsports are dyno tested before they ship. Each customer is provided with a video of their custom stroker engine being tested, along with documentation and printouts for future reference.
Why is dyno testing important?
What sets dyno testing apart from a live run test is the ability to apply a load. Dynos use either water or electricity to apply a load to the engine or powertrain of the vehicle. Loading simulates real life conditions under which the engine or vehicle will be operating. Without a load being applied, the integrity of all the components cannot be confirmed.
What makes the dyno procedure at Prestige Motorsports superior to the competition?Break in:
Every engine built at Prestige Motorsports goes through an hour long break in period. During this period the engine is run at 2,000 RPM. All temperatures and pressures are monitored by our professional staff, and the engine is inspected for leaks.
Load testing:
After the break in procedure, the engine is ready for a series of dyno pulls. First we apply a full load while maintaining a steady RPM. Next we load the engine across a wide RPM range. Before the final pulls we remove the valve covers for a valvetrain inspection.
Throttle test:
The throttle test allows us to check for proper acceleration enrichment. During this test the engine is held at 2,000 RPM with 150 ft-lbs of load to simulate a cruising condition. A quick snap of the throttle will ensure you do not encounter a stumble or backfire when nailing the throttle in your new ride.
Smoke check:
Last but NOT least, we remove the tail pipes and rev the engine to ensure that no oil is consumed under high vacuum conditions.
Shipping
Every Prestige Motorsports custom engine ships in an enclosed crate. The engine is mounted to a steel engine stand and is bolted to the custom-built crate.

We use material that is compliant with international export regulations. Each crate will also include the contact information of the customer or receiving agent, a free trade agreement if applicable, and all required shipping declarations.
