991.2 911 carrera replica GT2 RS decklid.
Up is a replica GT2 RS decklid. This is manufactured by a China based company, Racingsportplus. I love the look of the wingless GT2RS’ and it’s what I was trying to achieve. If there was gains, in terms of performance, even better. With that said, it’s a little difficult to do testing on this trunk but I did do some air intake temp monitoring vs another .2 carrera and did see slightly cooler intake temps in city/stop and go traffic and even less at highway speeds. The differences were about 7-12 in slower speeds (under 10mph) and a few degrees cooler with this trunk at 55+ mph. This was not anything scientific, simply two cars monitoring their intake temps via OBD driving the same route on the same day.
Fitment: let me say this, if you’re expecting OEM fitment, stop here and go buy an OEM trunk for 25-30K. However, this doesn’t fit bad at all. It was a challenge (I mounted it myself). The core support that the vendor sends with this decklid simply DOES not work. It’s best to use OEM GT2/3 or the oem metal unit by modifying it. I mounted it and got it to about 85% to OEM fitment and then dropped it off to a shop for paint and final fitting. In the end, I would say fitment was like a 8.8-9.2/10. It really depends on the shop capability.
my local shop fiberglassed the ends where the risers would mount at my request. So to run a wing on this you would need to sand down the fiberglass and expose the mounting holes.
