I picked up a few of these manifolds at Pomona, California swap meet.This is one of the betterreproduction manifold out there!This alsohas the GM part number on it. Also un like the other re-pops you see out there most of them hit the value covers, these don’t! When you pop the hood of your car there is no better site then a 2X4 crossram! Why spend over $3500.00 when you can have this one for less. This one also comes with the correct air filter with the yellowish element. The filters with the white element are incorrect. Also has the correct mesh. All the intake parts are U.S.A made.
The cross-ram intake manifold was developed for the 302engine using knowledge obtained during experimentation on the MK IV big-block.Then the crossram was adopted by the Trans-Am series.
It shouldbe understood then that no Z-28 was never factory-built with a cross-ram intakemanifold. Not only was there no need (the racing teams were officially able touse the part without having it on the production car), but GM Edict said\"this shall not be done\" - period. The proof that this was not aproduction item is in the assigned engine stampings for the 302. Flint Engineand the vehicle assembly plants would need a separate code to identify a motorassembly with any unique components. There are no obscure engine codes in theChevrolet records to indicate that anything but a single-4-barrel-equipped 302was ever assembled by the factory. It is possible that a dealer may haveconverted a car prior to delivery, but most of these manifolds wereowner-installed.
