We also use a full forged flat toppiston made for us to allow you maximum valve to piston clearance on almost any cylinder head you might havewhile allowing it to be a pump gas friendly build or we can also do a race gas highercompression version if needed as well as a lower compression ration for boost or nos. The machine work on the block includes;a complete cleaning and surface inspection of our blocks whichstarts by: being burnt and blasted in our cleaning system, thenthey all get squared up by our BHJ fixtures which gives youa truly squared updeck surface after we mill them (a plus for holding a head gasket tight under high stressapplications) and thenthey move on down the line to having their lifter bores gauged and honedwith our Sunnen lifter bore honing tools (so that you won’t have to worry about lifters galling ora tight lifter that doesn’t fit right during your build and cause you greatfrustration) Then off to being line honedin our Sunnen line hone machine. From there they get bored .040 over in our CNCRotler Boring Machine where we also maintain machine work squarenessfor more added HP and lower friction. Now they will be trial assembled andClarenced for the 4340steelcrank 28ozstroker kit. Next theywill go into our CV-616 hone machine where of course all of them get a set of honingplates put on them. (We have also seen a gain on the engine Dynoof at least 30-40hp, just from being honed with the honing plates vs. a 351wford block .040 over with just a plain Jane hone job.) This shortblock comes assembled with a set of .040 over real ForgedSRP/JE/Mahle/Wiseco/Trickflow pistons(Compression Ratios-Flat-top or Dish: (rangefrom 8:3-13:1 depending on your needs) with one of those head combos orwith Cometic head gaskets you willget you 8:3-13 to 1 compression (we can figure out what head gasket will get you what you need) and if you wanted to add Boost or NOSthen this is truly your short block. We also have included a set of ARPmain bolts at no extra charge. The piston rings are file fitplasma moly and the rod and main bearings are Clev 77large radius racing bearings along with brass freeze plugs and aset of Dura bond cam bearings which are installed in the block.(They are checked for proper fit and alignment before they leave so you don’tneed to worry about your cam not fitting upon arrival.) The crank is anew Eagle 4340 crank 0oz balance with a 4.170 in stroke, the rods are a6.200 floated style 4340 Scat SIR style rods with ARP bolts. We havebalancers and flywheels if need for an additional charge, please let us know.Now we offer this short block in your choice of colors which arewide ranging (just let us know when you buy it) and we also offera photo album build up of digital pictures of your engine, so youcan feel like you’re in the room as we machine it and build it to fit yourneeds. Our short block sales whendone with the buy it now will get you free labor on a cam and timing setinstallation and we will also degree yourcam in for free. You can send us your cam or we can pick a cam up for you and timing setas well and then just add it to the endbill before shipping. If you already have cylinder heads or want to buy a setand then send them to us we will also check VP and push rod length to unsurethe correct valve train geometry too. We willoffer all of that with the buyit now and the labor for installation of your heads and valve train aswell as cam and lifters if you like for 100%labor free. Just send them to us with theparts needed to bolt them on or we can assist you if you like and pickupwhatever else is needed to finish off the build. Any extra parts can be paidbefore shipping. (if the heads or parts are not ready to bolt on or need springs,valve seals or a re surface and heavy cleaning that is extra, please ask first)
